Our Framework

At Necessity Kids, we are a team of experienced therapy and teaching professionals who are dedicated to helping children with disabilities reach their full potential. We do this through our Necessity Kids Early Childhood Intervention Framework.

We have a framework that helps us make sure we're providing the best possible support for children with developmental needs and their families. It's based on the best practices and ethical guidelines recommended by leading organisations in the field. This framework helps us work together effectively as a team and evaluate our progress. It's used by all members of our team, including Early Intervention Key Workers, Speech Pathologists, Counsellors, Clinical Consultants, and other professionals, to ensure that we're providing the best possible support for your child and family.

Key Areas

  • We are dedicated to helping children with disabilities reach their full potential. We focus on understanding and addressing their specific needs and vulnerabilities related to their development. We also take into account the impact of environmental factors on their development. We work closely with families to support the child's learning, development, and skill-building through play-based activities and engaging environments. Our goal is to foster positive relationships with the child and their family to help the child reach their full potential.

  • Our main goal is to support families in their child's development. We aim to understand the unique characteristics of each family and their role in the child's development. We also strive to be culturally responsive and take into account each family's cultural, ethnic, racial, language and socioeconomic background. We work with families to identify and build on their strengths and talents, and to address their specific needs. We strive to create an environment where families feel empowered to advocate for their child and make decisions that are best for their child. We work in partnership with families to ensure that the needs of the child and the family are met.

  • We are committed to ensuring that children with disabilities have equal opportunities to participate fully in their families and communities. We will provide guidance to families in identifying inclusive mainstream and/or specialised services, locations, and venues that are appropriate for their child's development needs. Additionally, we will identify and address barriers to participation, and work to create inclusive environments by identifying opportunities for natural learning in existing natural environments, and utilising community resources. We will also work to build the capacity of community members to support inclusion for children with disabilities by identifying and recognising individuals with roles and strengths that promote inclusion and encouraging positive interactions, development of abilities and advocacy for the child.

  • We will support your child's participation in activities at home and in the community by assessing their abilities and needs through observation and communication with you and your child. We will utilise appropriate assessment methodologies to develop a strengths-based plan that is tailored to your child's needs and goals. We will collaborate with you and other relevant parties to implement the plan and provide ongoing support and guidance to promote progress. Additionally, we will work with other professionals and resources as necessary to ensure that the plan is effective and addresses the needs of your child and your family.

  • We aim to establish effective communication and collaboration with you and your child. We strive to ensure that our communication style and meeting arrangements are convenient and comfortable for you. We actively listen to and seek clarification on your concerns and feedback. We also take into consideration your feelings and priorities in our approach to working with your child. This collaborative approach helps us to provide the best possible support for your child.

  • In order to provide the best service possible, we continuously strive to improve our skills and abilities. We actively seek feedback from clients and colleagues to identify areas for personal and professional growth. We engage in reflective practice and participate in team discussions and mentoring opportunities to enhance our practice. We actively engage in professional development opportunities to stay current in our field and maintain high standards of performance. We apply our learning to our practice and make necessary adjustments to ensure the best outcomes for our clients
